Last Saturday, I popped into the Local Farm shop to buy locally produced apple and pear juice and honey as well as locally grown strawberries. I asked the shop assistant if they had any ripe strawberries for making jam and she gave me two big bags. So all weekend, I have been trying to use up the strawberries. Watch out for my recipes this week. I am also taking a big bag to the office so colleagues can also enjoy them.
As you know we very rarely get pure strawberry juice. Most commercial ones add sugar and water to the juice. The best way to have them is with no additions to the fruit. As I was making quite a few bottles I added some lemon juice to act as a preservative.
2-3 lbs of strawberries
2 tbls lemon juice
1. Wash the strawberries and remove the green stalks.
4. Enjoy the juice with no additions. Please note that strawberries contain natural sugars so drink in moderation if you are a diabetic.
If you wish to keep the juice in the fridge for a couple of days or wish to freeze the juice, add the lemon juice to it.
