Hoogly Tea Review

For my usual early morning drink I like my masala chai which I make using my home made masala mix  but I like to try new flavours of tea  during the day.   Drinking tea is a great way to refresh and hydrate yourself when you have been working hard.   I was lucky to receive a selection of Hoogly tea and I enjoyed sampling these with my colleagues during the day.

Hoogly is the pronunciation of ‘hyggelig’.   Hygge is a Danish word describing an experience; a year-round feeling of warmth, wellbeing and cosiness.  Tea enthusiast Tina Gloggengieser who is from Aarhus in Denmark, now living in Brighton, UK launched Hoogly Tea.  Tina is passionate about food and drink and the Danish way of life, ‘Hygge’.  ‘Hoogly Tea’ combines Tina’s love of tea with this mindful Danish concept to create a unique and healthy range of blends, made with luxury natural ingredients.   They have 18 blends which have all been created, hand blended and packed in the UK.  They are ethically sourced and fairly traded. Their biodegradable tea pyramids are soil association certified.

I would definitely recommend the vanilla chai which has Sri Lankan Black Tea, Ginger, Cinnamon, Cardamom, Cloves, Orange Flowers, Vanilla Pieces (3%), Natural Flavouring.  The tea has the smooth taste of vanilla  with a some chai spices which  perfectly balanced in this creation

The Tawanese Oolong  black tea warms  you up  with its combination of smoky tea leaves and warming spices, safflower and crushed chili. A really great drink for the cold winter evenings.

Danish Pastry – Herbal Infusion has a wonderfully warming chocolate and cinnamon aroma and a subtly delicious pastry taste which makes you wish to linger over your drink. This is perfect to have for your afternoon tea.

All of the samples I tried had good flavours and were enjoyable.   I loved their packaging and  the tea is perfect for giving as a present or included in a gift hamper.

Have you tried Hoogly tea?
