Doing Veganuary 2020 is introducing me to new ingredients. Tempeh is one of them. Being a food blogger – I had herad of tempeh but never cooked with it. It was my son who introduced it to me. LikeTofu – tempeh is also made from soya beans. Tofu is made from an extract of ground up soya beans whereas tempeh is made from fermented soya beans. There is lots of information on how to make tempeh and some recipes at this website.
some pickled piquante peppers or any bottled jalapenos or peppers
seeded bread
2 tbls oil
some vegan spread like Flora
Instructions
Slice the tempeh into 6-7 pieces.
Mix the salt, chili, turmeric and dhana jiru in 1 tablespoon of oil and add the tempeh to the mixture. Give the tempeha shakke so that the spice mix covers the tempeh. Allow this to marinade for 30 minutes.
Add one tablespoon of oil to a frying pan and slowly fry the tempeh with some peppers. Let the tempeh brown.
Once that's cooked, just assemble the sandwich using the rest of the ingredients.
Slice it and serve it cold.
Or toast it if you like it hot.
Again just slice the sandwich and serve it hot. For the hot toastie, I didn't add the coleslaw.
