Jeera Lassi or Chaas – Indian Drinking Yogurt in the Froothie Evolve
Lassi or Chaas is a simple Indian drink made from any plain yogurt and water. It’s a great cooling drink great and goes well with all the Indian dishes. Often people will add fruit or mild spices to the lassi. The amount of water, fruit and spices added to the yogurt depends on personal taste. Different Regions of India have their own versions of lassi or chaas. It’s really quick to make and you can also make it and keep it in the fridge ready to drink.

Equipment
Froothie Evolve Blender
Ingredients
2cupsyogurt. Vegans can use Soya Yogurt. ( can be home made or store bought)
1tspground cumin (jeera)- This is made by dry roasting this on a pan and crushed roughly using a rolling pin on a worktop.salt to taste
small bunch of fresh coriander
Instructions
Mix and transfer the yogurt to the a Froothie Evolve jug with a cup and half of cold water. (With Froothie Evolve you get 2 jugs – both made of tempered glass. The first jug has a heating element which allows you to cook & blend or steam & blend (if you use the steaming function and the stainless steel basket). The first jug is perfect for soups and steamed vegetables. The second jug is a high speed blender jug with 6 blades to give you the smoothest blending result possible. For this recipe I used the second jug.
Use the pulse mode and blend it for a minute. Using the Froothie Evolve makes the lassi/chaas creamy with lots of bubbles.
Transfer the lassi/chaas to a serving jug and add the cumin powder, some chopped coriander and salt to taste.
Serve it cold by adding some ice cubes if you like.
