A month ago UK suffered a Hummus crisis as some of the major supermarkets had to remove hummus from their shelves due to a “production issue”. It seemed that the hummus they sold had a metallic taste to it. Apparently, in UK, we eat 12,000 tonnes of hummus a year and the shortage had sent social media to a meltdown. We found the news amusing and my son decided that he would make some hummus as it was so easy to make with whatever ingredients you have in the cupboard.
To make it interesting, you can add variations such as avocados, peppers, green chilies, Mediterranean vegetables etc. to the hummus mixture
You may wish to try a new recipe of hummus with gram masala.
Were you effected by the hummus crisis? And did you make it at home? Do share your recipe too.
