Fun Vegetarian Snack Ideas

If you are planning a gaming night, why not select from the following six snacks to complete the fun? Some recipes require baking or chilling, but the rest are easy to prepare in minutes. There are plenty of options to choose from, and that can be daunting.  I like to choose snacks that can be prepared in advance.  You’ll want to cater for everyone’s dietary requirements too – vegans, vegetarians, gluten free, allergies.  These snacks go down really well as long as you label them and check that no one is allergic to any of the ingredients – especially the nuts.

Veggie Sticks with Dill Dip

Cut up an assortment of veggies such as cucumber, carrots, apple, celery, peppers (green, red, and orange), and asparagus tips. Then, make a dip in just a few minutes. Mix one cup sour cream, half a cup mayonnaise, two teaspoons dried parsley flakes, and one teaspoon each of dill weed and seasoned salt. Let it chill then spoon the dip into individual small glasses or see-through cups. Place the sliced vegetables upright in the serving containers.

Brownies

Melt three-quarters of a cup of butter and combine with two cups of sugar, four large eggs (at room temperature, not out the fridge), and two teaspoons of vanilla extract. Mix the dry ingredients in a separate bowl – one and a half cups of all-purpose flour, one-third of a cup of cocoa powder, half a teaspoon of baking powder, and a quarter teaspoon of salt. Combine the dry ingredients with the first mixture and stir until everything is well-combined. Take four snicker bars and cut them into pieces a quarter-inch thick. Coat these with flour and add to the batter. Grease a 13 by 19-inch baking tray and pour the batter in. Top with three plain milk chocolate bars that have been roughly chopped. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes at 350 degrees. Cool, chill, and cut into squares.

Nuts

Are you in a rush to play? Pour half a cup of raw, unsalted nuts into a cup and get to the game. You can also buy nuts with dried fruit. This snack is high in protein and healthy fats. Alternatively, grab two bananas and sit down to the best online slots with your quick snack.

Watermelon Pizza

Cut a slice of watermelon two to three inches thick and spread with Greek yogurt. Top with fresh strawberries, raspberries, cherries, and blueberries. Sprinkle with half a cup of pomegranate seeds and drizzle with honey. Cut into wedges and enjoy.

Mustard Pretzel Nuggets

You will need six cups of pretzel nuggets. Place them in a bowl. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Mix one-third of a cup of prepared mustard, two tablespoons of honey, one tablespoon of cider vinegar, and half a teaspoon each of onion powder, garlic powder, and ground mustard. Toss this over the pretzels and ensure that they are coated. Spread the nuggets evenly on a greased 15×10 inch oven pan and bake for 15 to 20 minutes, stirring every five minutes. Allow the pretzels to cool off completely before storing them in an airtight container in preparation for your gaming night.

Salted Almond and Honey Snack Bites

Pulse one cup each of raw almonds and large oat flakes for 20 seconds in a food processor. Place this mixture into a bowl and add one-third cup each of almond butter and raw honey with half a teaspoon of vanilla extract and a pinch of salt. Mix well, roll into ten balls, and freeze for 15 minutes.

Always make sure that there is plenty of water to drink as keeping hydrated is very important.  Also  keep a bowl of water and lemon juice mix on the side to clean off sticky fingers.

I have suggested snacks that won’t cause a mess or cause damage to your games.  Have fun.
