American Pancakes – the Easy recipe

American pancakes are my son’s favourite breakfast.  He loves them topped with butter and syrup.  We usually get the pancake mix  from my sister who lives in the USA.  However, we ran out of the mixture and found some pancake mix in Tesco’s.

Method:

  1. As instructed on the bottle, shake the bottle and add water up to the mark on the bottle.  Shake this and allow to rest for 2 minutes.
  2. Using a non stick frying fan, spread a teaspoon of oil to the frying pan and pour the batter to form a small pancake.  Cook for a couple of minutes.  Once you are able to loosen the pancake from the frying pan, turn it over and cook for a minute.  Remove and spread some butter on the pancake and make the rest of the pancakes in the same way.
  3. Serve with honey or pancake syrup. You can also serve it with fruit, jam or chocolate.

4.  Another serving suggestion: This amazing pancake was made by my son’s housemate so I can’t take credit for his creation.

I found a super easy vegan pancake recipe from the Savings and Savvy mum’s blog .  I can’t wait to make it for my son who is a vegan.
