Who doesn’t love a get together with friends to enjoy a game night? To get everyone excited about the games, we have to ensure that the food we serve is just as exciting and not messy so we can continue to play. Food is what makes everything flow on these evenings, and I share with you ideas for snacks that my guests enjoy, After all, if you want your guests to enjoy the evening we need to make sure that snacks have to be easy to eat, and not greasy enough to ruin cards or controllers.
To make things even better, we’re going to share some vegetarian and vegan food ideas – making your game night nice and ethical, and suitable for a range of dietary preferences. Let’s check out my choices below.
Crackers And Dip
This is the simplest and effective snack. Crackers and dip tend to be loved by everyone, and it’s an easy option to keep vegetarian – or even turn vegan if you make your own dip. This dip has always been a winner at our get togethers as it can be made vegetarian or vegan. Alternatively, hummus can be a perfect option; it’s filling, it’s satisfying, and you can spice it up with twists of paprika or olive oil. Who would say no to that?
And with a variety of crackers on offer, this is the perfect for everyone; you can get crackers with black pepper, chili, rosemary, or any other kind of flavorings. Stack up a few options and you can satisfy everyone. It’s also easy to dust off your hands before you grab your cards or pick up a controller – so no mess here!
To bump up the health aspect, go for cucumber, celery, and sliced pepper, and you’ve got an extra-magic combination for everyone to tuck into. When you talk about the perfect snacks for gaming, this is the way to go, and the very best part? There’s basically no prep involved if you buy the dip rather than making it, so you can focus on getting your gaming skills to top-notch before your friends arrive!
Nuts And Chocolate Mix
Want something ultra simple and straightforward? A bowl of nuts, raisins, and sweets is a great snack that you can easily make at home for a big group following my recipe. This recipe is quick and easy to make ahead of the party. Don’t forget to leave some side plates so your guests can help themselves! You can also toss in any nuts you fancy, along with chocolate chips and some raisins. It’s an irresistible combo! And since nuts are thought to be good for your brain, maybe they’ll give you a gaming edge! Just make sure none of your guests have a nut allergy before you go for this one – you don’t want game night to end up in disaster.
Samosas
My guests love my homemade samosas. Again these can be made and frozen ahead of the party, They are so easy to cook in the air fryer. Simple and delicious, samosas are easy to eat and definitely filling. With a great mix of potatoes and veggies, plus the golden crispy pastry, these are always a hit with guests. They can be a little greasy if you’re looking for a pure finger food, but overall, they’re a great option, and create minimal mess! Just keep lots of paper napkins and hand wipes available.
Fruit Plate
Another healthy and naturally vegan option is the humble fruit plate. This can be a gorgeous array of sliced bananas, apples, kiwi, and more, interspersed with tangerine segments and lovely juicy grapes. A few strawberries, raspberries, and blueberries are further delicious options, or you can go for peaches, apricots, or almost anything else you fancy. Pretty much everyone can enjoy this kind of snack, whatever their dietary preferences are. If you want a bit more of a treat factor, why not chocolate-dip the strawberries first?
Drinks
Don’t forget the drinks – gaming makes you thirsty! You can make vegan coffee very easily, and this tends to go down a treat with guests; who doesn’t love a caffeine boost to get their brain in gear for gaming? Or, if you’re not feeling like having coffee, any soft drinks and ice can work well, or you can brew a big pitcher of iced tea for everyone to enjoy together.
Potluck
You can always ask your guests to bring some snacks and drinks to share on the gaming night. This way, you only need to get fewer snacks. Juat ensure you have plenty serving dishes and drink glasses. The whole idea of having a gaming night is to enjoy the evening with friends.
Do share your suggestions for snacks on a gaming night.
