Today is World Vegan Day. According to Wikipedia, World Vegan day is an annual event celebrated by vegans around the world on 1 November. It was established in 1994 by Louise Wallis, who was then Chair of The Vegan Society, United Kingdom, to commemorate its 50th anniversary and in 2014 the 70th anniversary of the terms ‘vegan’ and ‘veganism’ and the establishment of The Vegan Society. In 2016 it is the 72nd year of veganism.

My son has recently become curious about veganism and this has sparked my interest in looking for recipes that I can share with him and other vegans. I often hear people mention how difficult it is to cook for vegans. So on World Vegan Day I share recipes for a starter, a main course which is made up of an Indian bread, rice and curry, a dip and a sweet dish.
A lot of my recipes can be made vegan by substituting ingredients. I have selected a few recipes from my blog for your information:
Starter: Pakoras
Dip: tomato dip
Indian bread: paratha
Curry: Aubergine and potato curry
Rice: Zaffrani rice
Dessert: Dates and nut Roll
Or you can always make a fruit salad for dessert.
